Belgian band Pura Vida will be the first of two reggae acts on august 13th. This band is living proof of the fact that Belgian reggae can compete with the flood of reggae coming out from all over. The genre is alive and kicking: weekly you can go to gigs and parties all over Europe. The elven piece liveband Pura Vida were the winners of the Benelux leg of the European Reggae Contest and played Rototon Sunsplash in Italy. They play roots reggae, but in an original way: violin and sitar are two of the instruments on stage. Band leader, composer and singer is Bregt De Boever, who lives nearby and is an affectionado of our little summer festival. All the more reason to invite them to our stage! But quality is still our first and only real motivation in selecting bands. Close your eyes and you’ll hear The Congos, and that’s a big compliment according to us. In January we featured a club show of Pura Vida at N9 villa, where they set the place on fire with a top class performance. We trust them to do the same to the park…
