Vreemdgaan (met muziek) mag op je 35ste verjaardag! AB duikt het komende feestseizoen in de koffer met het Clubcircuit voor een zeer spannende concertreeks. Vanaf oktober ’14 komen de vrienden van 4AD, Democrazy, Cactus Muziekcentrum, De Kreun, De Zwerver, Nijdrop, Kultuurkaffee, N9, Petrol, Recyclart en VK op verjaardagsbezoek in AB met een pak fijne concerten onder de arm. En AB maakt, zoals het een goede vriend betaamt, de omgekeerde beweging richting de elf clubs van het Clubcircuit. Artistieke kruisbestuiving in de vorm van 22 concerten in verschillende muziekstijlen… Maar met één rode draad: kwaliteit!
N9 presenteert in AB: Pura Vida
Al sinds 2006 spuwt het elfkoppig rootsmonster Pura Vida het Heilige reggaevuur uit over onze Europese contreien. Onder leiding van bezieler en boegbeeld Bregt De Boever trok dit Oost-Vlaamse collectief met een bonte mengelmoes van dub, blues, ska en soul richting Italië voor de prestigieuze Rototom European Reggae Contest 2008.
Het begin van een straf verhaal dat uitmondde in vier puike langspelers en samenwerkingen met Jamaica’s finest als Ashanti Roy (The Congos), Prince Alla en levende legende Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry. Hun vijfde worp ‘Step By Step’, de tweede liaison met Congo Ashanti Roy, zag deze zomer het daglicht en werd opnieuw ingeblikt in Pura Vida’s thuisbasis The Lost Ark Studio.
Straffe toebak met bijhorende kruiden als je het ons vraagt en hoog tijd dat deze vaderlandse trots de bühne van de AB-Club bestijgt. Stel dus je gps eind november alvast in op Zion, want het beloofde land van de Rastafari ligt op zondag 30 november ’14 voor heel even pal in het centrum van Brussel!
Opwarmen doen we met het Belgische selecta-duo Jahmbassador. Hun handgemaakte soundsystem laten ze thuis, maar de tandem Milo (naast reggae-god ook chef-kok van AB Café!) & Kaya zorgt voor een stevige pot positieve reggae-vibes. Voedsel voor hart, ziel en brein zoals ze zelf zeggen! Roots- en reggaecultuur in de naam van de allerhoogste Jah Rastafari. En om het feest compleet te maken worden ze geruggesteund door MC Missing Link, die de boel vakkundig zal opzwepen waar nodig.

From October ’14 the friends of 4AD, Democrazy, Cactus Muziekcentrum, De Kreun, De Zwerver, Nijdrop, Kultuurkaffee, N9, Petrol, Recyclart and VK will bring a birthday visit to AB with a lot of nice concerts. AB also brings a visit to the eleven clubs of Clubcircuit. Artistic cross-pollination in the shape of 22 concerts in different music styles. With only one thread: quality!
N9 presents at AB: Pura Vida
Since 2006 the eleven-headed roots monster Pura Vida spits the holy reggae fire over our European latitudes. Led by inspirer and figurehead Bregt De Boever, this East-Flemish collective travelled to Italy with a bright mix of dub, blues, ska and soul to enter the prestigious Rototom European Reggae Contest 2008.
It was the beginning of a strong story that ends in four first-rate long players and collaborations with Jamaica’s finest such as Ashanti Roy (The Congos), Prince Alla and living legend Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry. Their fifth album ‘Step by Step’, the second liaison with Congo Ashanti Roy, started this summer and was recorded in the home studio of Pura Vida, The Lost Ark Studio.
It’s time to invite this patriotic proud on the stage of AB. Set the destination of your GPS to Zion at the end of November, because the centre of Brussels will transform into the promised land of the Rastafarians on Sunday, November 30th.
