Born in Ghana, Edward Buadee started his career at the young age of 16, singing and entertaining hours long shows with a successful reggae cover band. In 1984, he arrives in Ghent where he co-founds the legendary band SKYBLASTERS with Patrick De Witte (pdw). They make an incredible impact on the Belgian reggae scene, play Pukkelpop in 1986 and share stages with famous artists like Pablo Moses, Lee Perry, Bob Geldhof, Jimmy Cliff, Youssou N’dour, Don Cherry, etc. until the band’s initial split in 1990. Restless Edward’s solo career gets an immediate boost being the inspiration for the Isabelle A hit ‘Blank Of Zwart’ in 1991. Successful singles like ‘Decent Life’ and ‘Gravity’ follow, first with The Walkers and more recently as just Buadee, but always with an amazing backing band of exceptional musicians, playing energetic shows, bringing summer party vibes to the hearts of so many.
In 2024, Edward returned to Ghana for a creative session resulting in the recording of two new singles, music videos and even a whole new album! The album was premiered with a sold out show at De Centrale in Ghent on April 30th, to overwhelming critical acclaim. A must see on a stage near you this summer and fall! It’s Not Too Late… yet
