Asham finds strength and inspiration in long lost times when things were still made to last. Travelling all the way back to the joyful roots of Reggae music, they keep their eyes on the road ahead and their music is open to many new influences.

Asham was founded by Wim 'Radics' (drums) and Alain (bass), two well experienced musicians from the Belgian reggae scene. In 2007, after several years of admiring each other's work with other bands, they decided the time was right to finally get together and kickstart their very own reggae backing band. So things started with drum and bass; "The drum is the heartbeat and the bass is the backbone" as Aston "Familyman" Barrett said, and who would argue with that? Quickly they teamed up with Wim (keys), Robin (guitar) and Peter (keys) to add more power and sweet sounds to their groove, and whenever necessary, a tasty horn section completes the setup for the perfect reggae experience.

Asham has collaborated successfully with international reggae stars such as the legendary Heptones (Leroy Sibbles and Barry Llewellyn), Marcia Griffiths, Triston Palma, Michael Prophet, Al Campbell, Rod Taylor, Bitty McLean, Omar Perry, U Brown, Prince Alla, Sylford Walker, Errol Dunkley but also with newer artists like Raphael (Italian/Nigerian) and the super talented Junior Kenna (NL). In particular Marcia, Leroy and Triston like that Asham groove so much that they are determined to keep working together for even more solid live-shows on the road ahead.

In Belgium they love to perform with local artist, Johnny Den Artiest and conquer the hearts and smiles of the Flemish and Dutch massive.
