Alvin Young Blood Hart is een Amerikaanse zanger en gitarist. Sinds halfweg de jaren ’80 is hij bezeten door de akoestische blues, die hij doorgaans solo brengt. Zijn debuutplaat ‘Big Mama’s Door’ verscheen in 1996. In 2005 won hij een Grammy voor zijn bijdrage aan de compilatie ‘Beautiful Dreamer – The Songs of Stephen Foster’.
Alvin Youngblood Hart wordt weleens omschreven als "the cosmic American love child of Howlin Wolf and Link Wray”. Zowel Mick Taylor, Eric Clapton als Bob Dylan lieten al verstaan fan te zijn van de man. Ook Taj Mahal is onder de indruk van Hart's kunnen. "The boy has got thunder in his hands", zo verklaarde die ooit.
