We want to experiment during Opstand. And Altertape just knows how to do this. The music of the new band of Jonathan Callens resembles a movie soundtrack of a movie: instrumental, at times melancholic, at times groovy and danceable. They don’t avoid the experiment; proof of this is the subtle use of a loop station and electronic elements.

The centre of the second band Jane Spleen consists of singer Oljana Weyler and guitarist Koen Wauters. They share a love for music and each other. Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg have proven that a combination like that can be very inspiring. In atmospheric pop songs, drenched in soul, blues and folk, Jane Spleen sings about love, lust and joy, but also about the down sides of life.

The third band Grant got inspired by David Gray, Fink, Luka Bloom and Ryan Adams and makes singersongwriter songs with typical Grant elements: honest, touching melodies, rhythmic guitars and drums, added with a dreamy piano. The men of Bruges will play songs of their new album Until Dawn especially for Opstand.
