Starting with Violin at age 4, Marieke Lightband was already thrown into the world of music at a very young age. Music is a second laguage she uses to express herself with.
At age 15 she picked up her first guitar and was hooked instantly. From her first 3 chords she started composing, writing and singing. Already it was obvious she had a talent.
Now Marieke Lightband is a full grown professional singer with a dynamic and eclectic voice. The flexibility and smoothness are quite rare.
She has the ability to reflect her true emotions unlike any other.

She is now also part of KOALA. A band from Antwerp that brings an eclectic mix of hiphop, trip hop, rock, pop, industrial and many more.
She has been composing and writing with them for about 2 years.
On november the 26th 2011 they had their Cd-release on which you can find 2 of her contributions: 'Kick Out' and 'Future of Society'
she will also be performing with them on stage. Something you can not miss!!!!
