In alle bescheidenheid ontpopte Marble Sounds, het geesteskind van Pieter Van Dessel, zich drie jaar geleden tot de ruwe parel van de Belpop. Toen stond de band met het nummer Sky High, genomen van debuutplaat Nice Is Good, een tijdje op de vierde plaats van De Afrekening en zelfs op de eerste plaats van De Hotlist van Studio Brussel. De videoclip die bij het nummer hoort werd in 2010 genomineerd voor een Music Industry Award in de categorie Beste Videoclip. Ze wonnen net niet (Zornik ging hen voor), maar de animatiefilm is waarlijk een pareltje. Een Youtube-kijker omschreef de clip als volgt: “Direct door naar dat speciale kamertje in je hoofd. En je weet... zo moet het zijn.” De clip werd meer dan honderdduizend keer bekeken, maar die op zich al indrukwekkende statistiek verzinkt in het niets bij de meer dan 3,5 miljoen Youtube-views van het nummer Good Occasions. Dat de band een fanbase begint op te bouwen die onze landsgrenzen ver overstijgt spreekt voor zichzelf.
In maart 2013 bracht de band opvolger Dear Me, Look Up uit. De plaat is overladen met melancholie en leest als een spannende roman, een trip waarin elke seconde de emoties prikkelt. Ze klinkt nu eens poppy, dan weer fragiel: voorwaar een plaat van extremen! Zowel op de plaat als live krijgt Pieter Van Dessel assistentie van heel wat mooi volk zoals Gianni Marzo van Isbells. Chantal Acda, naast lid van Isbells ook actief in True Bypass, zingt backings op het nummer No One Ever Gave Us The Right.

Marble Sounds, the brainchild of Pieter Van Dessel, revealed itself three years ago in all modesty as the raw pearl of Belpop. The band took 4th place for a while in De Afrekening with the song Sky High from the album Nice is Good and they even topped in De Hotlist on Studio Brussel. The video clip of the song was nominated in 2010 for a Music Industry Award in the category Best Videoclip. They didn’t win (Zornik did), but the animation film is a real gem. A Youtube-viewer described the video as followed: “it goes straight to that special room in your head. And you know… it has to be like this”. The clip has already been watched more than 100 000 times, but this impressive statistic is nothing in comparison to the more than 3,5 million Youtube-views of the number Good Occasions. The album is loaded with melancholy and feels like an exciting novel, a trip where every second is emotion. At times they sound poppy, at times fragile: an album of extremes indeed. Talented people such as Gianni Marzo of Isbells assist Pieter Van Dessel on the album and during live concerts. Chantal Acda - not only a member of Isbells but also of True Bypass – sings backing vocals on the song No One Ever Gave Us The Right.
